The Second annual Isaiah Berlin Riga Memorial Lecture was given by Anne Applebaum on Monday, June 7th 2010, in the Mazā Ģilde, Riga. Her subject was: “The New Authoritarianism”. Besides that the Isaiah Berlin Day in Riga included an Oxford-style public debate on the motion: “We should be ready to sacrifice some of our freedoms in the fight against climate change” and a public discussion on the theme, “What Latvians have learned from the recession”.
